Simon’s Motor Trim Implementation




Some notes from Simon:

  • Opencockpit DC Motor Board (interfaced with SIOC)
  • Takanawa 555 metal gear DC motor, attached to home made plastic motor carrier bracket
  • Lower trim axis rotates six times, multi-turn pot rotates ten times; requires a gear ratio 1.5 or 1.6 (45 vs 30, or 48 vs 30 teeth)
  • Original movable joint if motor axis is not exactly aligned
  • 1.5 gear ratio for feedback on multi-turn pot
  • Foam sound insulation
